About Unplugged Community
We live in a world that is louder and busier than ever. Notifications, feeds, and screens compete for every spare second of attention.
We started Unplugged Community because we believe something vital gets lost in all that noise — our ability to simply be human together. When we set our devices aside and sit with one another, something good happens. People laugh more. Conversations go deeper. Strangers become neighbors. We eat well and feel seen.
There's no membership, no cost, and no commitment. Come to every event or just one. Show up for an hour or stay all evening. The only expectation is that you leave the scrolling for later.
The Structure
What to Expect
Every gathering follows the same four-part rhythm — structured enough to feel intentional, loose enough to feel free.
Play
We always begin with play. Board games, card games, outdoor activities, lawn games — whatever brings people together and gets us laughing. Play breaks down social barriers faster than almost anything else. By the time we move on, the room already feels warmer.
Community Announcements
Next, we make space for community announcements. Got something to celebrate? A need to flag? A local cause worth amplifying? This is the time. A healthy community is one that stays informed and invested in each other's lives.
Connect
Then comes the part that gives Unplugged its name: intentional connection time. Devices away, screens down, full presence. We have real conversations — the kind that are hard to have when there's always another tab to open. People share stories. They listen. They find out they have more in common than they expected.
Feast
We close by sharing a meal together. Attendees are invited — never required — to bring food to share. If you have more than enough, pass it around. If you come empty-handed, you're still welcome at the table. Sharing food is one of the oldest ways humans have said you belong here.

Welcome
No one is ever pushed to do anything they're not comfortable with. Don't want to play a particular game? Fine. Prefer to listen rather than speak? Perfect. Your experience is yours to shape.
Radical Inclusivity
No attendance requirements. No monetary asks. No judgment. You don't have to "earn" your place here — you already have one. Everyone is welcome exactly as they are.
Freedom
Come and go as you please. Arrive late, leave early, dip in and out. Authentic connection only happens when people feel genuinely free — so we protect that freedom fiercely.
Presence
When we set our devices aside, something shifts. We're not half-listening while we scroll — we're just here, with each other. That's rarer than it should be, and it's worth protecting.
